Light and L are reincarnated, with different names but the same physical looks and lifestyles. Both are in their early twenties and joined the Metropolitan Police Department some years back. Now they are promoted to detective and work under Kana Yagami, Light's twin sister, in the homicide division. A prominent businessman, Alexander Kennedy, dies, apparently a suicide. The duo visit the crime scene of their very first case and quickly realize that something was off. He had no reason to suicide. Their simple case quickly turns deadly as the death note resurfaces and the deepest, darkest secrets of the world's most powerful countries are exposed, forcing Kana to turn to an old associate, Near, for help. As Near and Kana dig up the past, memories surface, causing tension between the two detectives who are steadily falling for each other. Will they be able to push aside their past and move on ? Ever since then, I saw something by his side at all times, a shinigami... Shinigami.. Gods of death... Then there's a notebook I noticed that Light had.. Death note... I think Light is Kira.. But then I meet L, a member of the group who's working on the Kira case, the best detective in Japan, the one person who hides his identity.... Can I tell him..? Can I trust him...? He seems to trust me enough to tell me that he's L. But there are a few things stuck in my head... Why did he offer me to help him? Why does he want me to help at all? Why does he want me by his side? Why does he want me to choose a letter as a name? Especially for broadcasting? L.... You care about me... Don't you? Or...
