Meet Maria, She has been bullied since around the beginning of 6th grade, at age 11. She doesn't feel like she knows her family anymore, ever since around the last few days of summer before 6th grade, when she finds out that they aren't her real family, she feels like she doesn't really know them anymore. She just goes to school and gets bullied by a group of 4 boys in the same grade. At school teachers always try to help her by keeping an eye on her. If the teachers see her get bullied, they help her instantly since her 'step' family asked them to. She normally just falls asleep in a back alley everyday after getting bullied, her step-father finding her and picking her up and taking her home every day. She goes to the nurses office every day in the morning and the nurse helps her out a lot. She started to trust fewer and fewer people. But then one day her life changes. Will she trust 5 teenagers that are trying to help her? Or will she try to run away from them? Is it possible for even more to happen? Will she find her real family? Read the book to find out.
