Everyone has another side that they don't want anyone to know about. Some call it a 'dark side'. But what happens if you come face to face with this dark side? What if it interrupts your 'stable' existence and throws your world into chaos?

This is exactly what happens to Runa Walker who is a young woman, living above the 'Bell, Book and Candle' bookstore in a small rural town. She suffers with nightmares and sleepwalking so she does not get much rest at all. One night, she wakes up in the park and discovers something which changes her life forever.

Between the dreams of her 'other' self and whispers from a basement door, she begins to believe she is going crazy. When the exclusive Ladies' Book Club invites her to join, Runa is apprehensive yet intrigued. But finding out that there is more to her hometown including the legacy of her dead father; is very disturbing.

She tries to retreat into a 'normal' life but unfortunately for Runa, her life has other plans.
