The king once was a simple man, but on one day he came up with the idea to take over a nearby kingdom en slaughter all remaining members of the royal family. The rest is history. He only missed little James who was hidding in a tree. The poor thing saw it all happen and the only thing he wants when the king dies, is his kingdom back. Only princess Ruby has other plans.

After being chased through darkness, George soon finds himself amongst an (literally) underground society that despises the reign more than anything. Keeping his real identity hidden and pretending to be just another nobody, he's introduced to a world that's vastly different from his former life in the kingdom. Secrets are revealed and he's shown a completely new side to life that makes him question everything he's ever known. George's new situation is in his eyes close to perfection. Finally, he's found the place where he was always meant to be. But there's one problem, or rather a person, that refuses to accept George as a new member no matter how hard he tries.
