This is the story about two people on opposite sides of a fence. Avery was just another person on the south side of the fence. She, like everyone else, never spoke of or acknowledged the Fence. But one day as she walks home from school, she hears a boy on the other side calling for help. That's how she meets Caden and that's when she starts to question why the Fence is there in the first place.
