An old proverb says: "When the woodland catches fire, everyone suffers, including the bear". After a 23-year journey across the Delta Quadrant, Voyager returned to an alternate reality in which planet Vulcan had been destroyed. Ten years later, crew still try to cope with discrepancies in their lives.

Section 31 leadership mulls over a legitimate concern: Was someone else out there seriously affected by the Narada's temporal rampage?

An ancient interstellar civilazation may have not been able to start "lighting-up" Neolithic cultures soon enough and another one may have begun eating their souls too early.

"You really care about her, don't you?" Tom said, but the commander didn't answer. So Tom clarified his statement. "The Captain, I mean." "I have the utmost respect and admiration for Captain Janeway." Chakotay's response had been a long time coming. "Yeah, that too..." Tom threw in, as the tone of Chakotay's voice suggested the question had hit a little too close to home. Tom paused momentarily, mulling over what to say next or whether to keep his mouth shut. He put his hand on Chakotay's shoulder. "Commander, I could be wrong but, personally, I think you're holding out on false hope. If it was me, I'd want to know for sure. Maybe even push the point. Make a move. I mean, what's the worst case scenario here? Either she's going to phaser you, or she's going to..." "Consider yourself relieved, Lieutenant!" They both jumped, startled at the sound of her voice. Inwardly, Tom wondered how long the captain might have been standing behind him, while he tried to remember the last few words of his conversation with Chakotay. SYMBOLS or more informally "Why the heck Chakotay chose Seven of Nine when, previously, he wanted to throw her out the nearest airlock" is a work of fanfiction. It sticks to canon and is an ensemble piece, but focuses on Janeway and Chakotay predominantly. Paramount and Pocket Books own everything Star Trek - no copyright breaches intended. I just took the characters out for a play. Literary agent sent most of this to Pocket Books in 1998, but they didn't want it. I have a sweet rejection letter! So it's mine now. A couple of re-writes since then to relocate it in Season 7 and add Chapter 1 and the Epilogue. Heartfelt thanks to Mary Wood, Heather Harwood, Sara Creasy and Mary S (Duffydog) for the editing long ago. Book cover template from Graphic Springs. Feedback is always appreciated.

Ami: "We may be in different worlds, but we share the same moon and stars." This is a sci-fi love story, dedicated to those people who had to depart... Can you still see the stars in the city's sky? Have you ever imagined that your imagination could transcend what meets the eye? Slowly soaring towards the outer reaches of the solar system, you will encounter Mars first, followed by the asteroid belt teeming with activity, and then the radiant Jupiter and the ringed Saturn. Continuing further, there's Uranus, and beyond Uranus lies the deep blue Neptune, followed by the Kuiper Belt. Farther still is the Oort Cloud, a journey that takes at least 20,000 years... This is a pilot's logbook from the era of interstellar exploration. During that time, fusion technology has become practical, and humanity has embarked on voyages into the frigid expanses of the outer solar system, exploring the Kuiper Belt. Earth remains a stage for political and economic struggles, while the explorers are busy bees of that era, pioneers venturing into various planetary belts, far removed from human civilization. This story encompasses love, longing, psychological descriptions, speculation, as well as themes of loneliness, social anxiety, and PTSD. If you're a tech enthusiast, you'll find foundational elements of interstellar travel here: astronomical units, speed and time, the asteroid belt, Kirkwood gaps, Trojan groups, the Kuiper Belt, Lagrange points, orbital resonance, gravity assist, centrifugal force, the structure and construction materials of interstellar space stations, fusion engines, magnetic confinement, propellant propulsion, and other technological concepts.

The year 2410. The United Federation of Planets serves as the peacekeepers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants and unites more than one hundred planets in peace and harmony. Starfleet, the exploratory agency and defence force of the Federation, continues to explore the Galaxy and expand the knowledge of the Federation. The U.S.S Apollo, a Nova class ship fresh off the shipyards, has been assigned to survey planets in the Bad Lands near the border with the Cardassian Union. But they encounter the True Way, a Cardassian terrorist group who are obsessed with returning the Cardassian Union to their old ways of imperialism and tyranny. Not long after encountering the True Way, the ship and it's entire crew of one hundred crewmen are pulled into the Gamma Quadrant by a mysterious anomaly and now must spend years travelling to the Bajoran Wormhole's other side deep in the still unexplored Gamma Quadrant. Under the leadership of Captain Ethan Rivers, the brave crew of the U.S.S Apollo shall explore strange new worlds, they shall seek out new life and new civilisations. And they shall boldly go where no one has gone before!
