Munich, 1940. 

For a year, Nazi Germany has been at war with the Allies. 

And they have been winning. 

More and more 'undesirables' have been rounded up in the occupied territories and trapped in ghettos. 

Theodor Eisenberg. Age 13. Jewish. 

Theo's family constantly lives in fear of being caught. Unlike their brethren, the Eisenbergs are fortunate, for they look 'Germanic', and have been spared persecution from the authorities. 

However, Theo is forced into joining the Hitler Youth, where he could be exposed at any time. And he cannot trust anyone. Will he pull through, secretly slipping through the grip of the Nazis? Or will he be discovered, and weeded out as an IMPURITY?
