It's 1966 in Vietnam, Asia. Men ages 18 to 30 are being drafted into this brutal war.

And there is no going back. Jayden is a soldier. He was just like any other soldier -- stern, but generous, war-scarred, but kind. He would even pray for the Vietnamese people, having their country torn apart into pieces by Jayden and his troops. But no one understood that -- except for Gunner. Gunner was a sweet German Shepard-Husky mix waiting for his forever home after being neglected by his old owners, taking him back to the pound after three months of temporary care. He was only four months old when Jayden found out about him, busy cleaning up in his hooch. Gunner is that of a soft-hearted animal, hard to teach him war. Will Jayden ever make it out of the war alive? At the same time, trying to protect his beloved dog, Gunner, at all costs?
