Subject A9 was terminated; Subject A9 betrayed WICKED. Subject A9 was shot and thrown out into the scorch in hopes that she wasn't immune from the deadly flare that would overcome her body and take every inch of humanity left inside of her.
When a silly little girl is supposed to be dead after escaping the wrath of WICKED, she is thrown into the turmoil that is the scorch and is left to fend for herself. Mataya became her own warrior, teaching herself how to fight. A warrior with fire in her veins and armour beneath her, skin who crushes the earth beneath her feet.
When the Gladers escape the Maze, they are now set to face the challenges on the open roads of a desolate world filled with many obstacles, they must team up with Subject A9 to survive what they call the scorch.
Subject A9 is far from terminated alongside Group A, and they are ready for vengeance.
