Ēxpłīāñtīōñ: Mumei is adopted when Jason is fifteen. When Mumei was thirteen he naively started "dating" a gang member thinking the member liked him. He was found a couple months later when the member was busted for illegal selling of drugs. Mumei was raped and beaten while with the gang member, leading to him having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar Depression. Mumei was given a couple months treatment before being put up for adoption. Jason's parents adopted Mumei and brought him home and sure enough that's were the story begins.
