A mother and her daughter.

A father and his son.

Both heading to their homes.

Both heading in opposite directions.

In the middle of winter the mother and her daughter were heading home, not a worry in their minds. That is, until they hit the icy bridge.

Their car spun across the bridge into the other lane. An oncoming car, where the father and son were, hit them straight in the passenger side door, where the daughter sat.

The impact seriously injured the mother and young girl; knocked out the father in the other, but the son escaped. The car exploded seconds after he made it out.

His first instinct was to help the mother and daughter by pulling them out of their collapsing car to safety, but that's all the remember of the boy who saved them. They passed out after that.

They haven't seen that boy since then.

He's been a mystery to them.

Until now.

[BWWM] I was only twelve years old when the world turned cold. The day my mom died in that car accident, I felt like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over my heart. My dad, who had always been my hero, suddenly became a stranger, filled with rage and blame. He couldn't see that I was hurting, too; he only saw me as a reminder of his loss. The accusations cut deep. He said it was my fault for being there, for not doing something to save her. For being the reason she was in the car in the first place. In the years that followed, things only got worse. The abuse started gradually-a harsh word here, a shove there-but it escalated, leaving scars that I carried long after the physical pain faded. I was drowning in my own despair, struggling to keep my head above water while my father's anger raged like a storm around me. I only had a break from his anger when I started living with Aunt Dina-my mom's older sister. Well, that was because she found me nearly dead on my bed after I took a dozen pills. I was tired of living. I had hit rock bottom. The harsh whispers that followed me around and the stares at school. I pretended not to notice, like it didn't bother me. But it did. I was alone. Then came Athalia, a ray of sunshine cutting through my darkness. With her, I felt something I hadn't felt in years-happiness. She became my light through the darkness and my lifeline. ••••••••••• ● Warnings ⚠️ ~ Mention of suicide ~ Anxiety attacks ~ Rape attempt ~ Mention of self-harm ~ Depression

...We were so caught up in the shared moment of care free joy to notice the midnight grey Toyota pickup truck speeding directly towards us. Meters before impact dad finally caught on to what was about to happen, despite it being day the approaching vehicle's headlights blinded us as our cars breaks slammed on, the sound of the tires melting away as the rubber tires scraped against the pavement filled the air and the scent of burning rubber overwhelmed my nostrils, despite our efforts the brakes didn't slow us down, we were to late. There was nothing we could do as we collided head on..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attempt two at writing a book lmao, summaries without spoilers are not my strong point but here you go: After a tragic child hood accident Astra is left utterly alone, forcing her to make a massive move across the states to live in Tennessee with her grandmother. In the beginning Jason was a kind, caring guy who seemed genuinely interested in getting to know Astra, but not everyone is who they seem to be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TW LIST!!!! "Don't leave, Annie. We can figure this out." I'm begging and just when I think she's going to give in, she turns and starts to walk away. I can feel my heart breaking as she takes step after step. "So that's it, you're just going to leave? You can do better than that, Annie. Go ahead, yell and scream. Tell me that you're too fucked up for this, tell me that I'm too fucked up for this. Say that we'd never work and that you don't love me. I dare you to say something, Annie. Say something real and stop hiding your feelings." She stops walking and I feel bad for saying what I did, but I had to dig deep, I had to get through to her, to let her know that I'm not letting her just walk away from me, not like this. She doesn't turn back though. After a few seconds, she continues walking across the field towards the parking lot. At this point, I have nothing left to lose. "Dear Star" I shout just loud enough for her to hear half way across the field. She stops dead in her tracks, the bag falling from her shoulder. --------------------------------- Annie is consumed with guilt, she's punishing herself for something that wasn't her fault. Her little brother, River, is dead and her family is falling apart. She is falling apart. Her only outlet is her blog, where she pours all of her thoughts anonymously to the universe. Ian is consumed with guilt, he's blaming himself for something that had to be done. Annie and Ian are unlikely friends, but they have more in common than they think.
