At the end of the 75th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen blew out the force-field of the Quarter Quell arena with an arrow and a willingness to survive. With her fiery spirit and unique gift of archery, she willed the districts to rebel against the Capitol.
Twenty years before, another tribute had a similar goal.
------------------------------------------
Fifteen-year-old Cassia never asked for her life. She never asked to be born in poverty in the middle of a semi-rich District Seven, nor scorned for her family's origins in the Capitol. Her only comforts are her parents and two siblings, and the peace and resources that only the redwood forest around her provides. She knows that when times are hard, she has people to whom she can turn to, and get her out of trouble, no matter how deep.
When Cassia is reaped for the 55th Hunger Games, she is not prepared for the responsibility of getting out alive- especially when her district partner is someone she loves dearly. As old acquaintances reappear and mysterious new faces begin to take an interest in her, Cassia must question her ability, identity, and sanity- and how much she's willing to protect in a dangerous three-week game of life or death.

A shout-out to @ThatBlondeSlytherin for making my cover!

Also: DO NOT STEAL MY WRITING. I HAVE BEEN WRITING THIS OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL YEARS, AND THEREFORE IS WORK MADE BY ME. Plagiarism doesn't show your hard work, creativity, or integrity.
If you do see someone trying to reproduce my book, report it and tell me. I'd very much appreciate it.

Warning: I try to write chapters with the length of novel chapters. The chapters in this book happen to be long. If this is a problem for you, don't read this; or try to clear a space in your schedule for reading beforehand. Just a heads-up.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet. We'd never gone in there without her father. It seemed like a scarier place without him. After some time it wasn't so scary. I don't know what made me volunteer for Katniss. When I heard her name echo throughout the crowd my heart stopped. It wasn't my name, but it was my best friends. There was no way she could survive in there. She had a family, a sister to take care of. I thought my parents could live without me. The name Effie called next was the only name I prayed and prayed I would never hear her say. Peeta Mellark. My name is Catora Melane and I'm in 74th Annual Hunger Games. Hunger games Fanfic Peeta Fanfic #1 Arrows in the Dark #2 Blaze #3 Hijacked
