Its been three years since Malistaire sent the Death School underneath the waterfall. When Malistaire returns after all those years, swearing to take over the Spiral, ten wizards rise to stop him. Alura, a Necromancer and a student of Moon, his own daughter, happens to be one of them. The others are her friends Lilly, a fellow Necromancer; Mary, a Theurgist; Ariana, a Conjurer; Ashleigh, a Pyromancer; Rachel, a Thaumaturge; Monica, a Diviner; Vivian, a Sorcerer; Catherine, a Pyromancer and a student of Star; and Willow, a Conjurer and student of Sun.
