The wild dances of the swallows, and the tiny whispers of Bellbottom Creek; the crisp northern breeze that carried the plum blossoms, and the silence of the woods.
These were all things that Lambert Stone loved about Ballantyne's Hollow. He loved his quaint little house, and the view of the poppy fields from outside his kitchen window; he loved his Grandfather's carved porch-swing, and most of all he loved his treasured library.
The faint smell of thyme, the excitement he felt while his eyes skimmed the shelves, and the wonders that hid behind every cover. In his lukewarm life, he could only feel excitement during his times spent in the library. That was what he loved. He didn't care for the "opportunities in the city," and no, a woman was not "just what he needed." He didn't like the Brownies that were always hiding the eggs, and nor did he like when Lydia Finn stopped by to complain about her fiancé. He didn't quite like bugs, either, but he could stand all these things so long as he could waste away his time getting lost in his books.

What he can't stand, is when odd looking strangers barge into his home and destroy his beloved library! And they don't even clean their shoes at the door!
