At seventeen Ava's first day at her new college isn't going exactly how she planned and she's sure the day couldn't get any worse, or could it? That's when her eyes fell upon a boy, Jonathan. She can't help but feel a sudden rush of emotions for him. Subtle sparks of feelings ignite her. And she lets herself fall into the blissful feeling of love. 
But with time, the boy turns out to be extremely different from what Ava thought of him to be. 
She is shattered by pain and betrayal. She loses herself completely. All that she knows and feels is the numbness inside her that threatens to take over all that she is.
