Kara Stallion had never lived in one place for long. From birth her parents always moved around, then she moved from foster home to foster home. She finally settled down with a foster parent who actually takes care of her, but once again she is forced to move.
A small town in Canada became her new home after her "Aunt" Cassie went bankrupt. The town was known for a lot of things, it's production of wheat, wool and consistent amount of deaths.
As Kara starts a new life, with (maybe) long time friends, and a new home. Her own stubbornness and clumsiness cause her to fall into trouble with the wrong people and before long she's trapped in a life she thought she'd left behind.
