Kimberly lived a normal life until everything changed. She woke up one morning to her mother screaming. She was only 12 at the time, she didn't know what to do. Men from the government barge into her bedroom and when she makes it downstairs her mother is on the verge of death. These government men force her into a helicopter and bring her to an entirely new life. She meets knew people and gains new skills.
This book and slightly messed up, everyone of Kim's friends is different, they gain tattoos and no one remembers getting one. Kim's tattoo is longer than the others she's seen but she doesn't pay attention. She's also the only one who can remember being taken away.
