"...[Name], you have to make a choice."

You looked at the people around you: your friends, your closest allies, and finally, him. You closed your eyes, trembling slightly. 'This isn't how it's supposed to go...' you thought.

He nodded, taking your pause as confirmation that he would be the one. The one who would save everyone-the one who would save you. "[Name]." He stepped forward, towards you.

You opened your eyes. "...I'm sorry."

[Name] is impossible. Having multiple lives and multiple deaths? Impossible. 

But... it's not. 

This is your journey, travelling to multiple worlds and fighting off monsters, all while trying to figure out how you even exist. And along the way, who knows? Maybe you'll fall in love too. The actual story (not the intro stuff) takes place around the time of KH2 in a sort of AU setting. You'll meet many people and encounter many enemies along the way, but  by the end you'll figure out who you are and why you're here... Right?

A part of me wishes that I wouldn't think so much. I think that if I DIDN'T think so much, it would lead to a lot less misery. But then again, would I really be the same person if I didn't think so much? I don't think so anyways, because it's who I am. The events of the Kingdom Hearts Saga if Sora and Kairi had been born the opposite gender. Soraya is an average tomboyish girl living on the Destiny Islands with her two best friends. Riku, who had been her closest friend her whole life (so close that they were practically siblings), and Kai, a sweet and creative boy who she had a slight crush on. One day, when Soraya was fourteen, her life changed forever when darkness invaded her home, and only she had the power to combat it. Little did she know that she was the prophesied Child of Destiny. ***I've loved Kingdom Hearts for years. I have all three main games. I've seen a couple genderbend fanfictions about it before, which were really good, but I thought I could elaborate more. Only Sora and Kairi are genderbent in this fanfiction. I do realize that Sora is a Japanese unisex name, but I associate it too much with a boy character to use it. Soraya is a Persian name that means "star cluster," which I feel fits perfectly, and Kai is a unisex name that means "sea" in Hawaiian, which also works well. There will be no POVs in this fanfiction. Kingdom Hearts is the property of Square Enix and Disney. Found inspiration for Kai's design on Google Images. (Copywrite is the last thing I want). I only own the genderbent versions of Sora and Kairi. So please enjoy my first entry in my genderbent Kingdom Hearts Saga. Also, I may include some more detailed information about some characters.
