Finn Matthews was never one to appreciate a pet fish. "A swimming buddy when you practice for competing!" His mother encouraged. "Saving another animal from the terrifying depths of the ocean," his dad said sadly. Yes, when Finn got a pet fish he expected to have a new swimming buddy and saving another animal, but what he didn't expect was it to morph into a mermaid. Obviously knowing that he couldn't keep the thing in the home of a marine biologist, he carries her to the ocean. But what he doesn't realize is that he's leading his new friend and maybe even love interest to something worse; an accidental oil spill in the area. Faced with pollution, Finn's new friend Nina is slowly dying, and he needs to save her before pollution's oily hands get to her first.
