Alexis Richards is a seventeen year old girl who has experienced alot of ups and downs throughout her life, her father is emotionally absent while her mother drinks constantly. Her only way of escaping her reality is her love for poetry. Still reeling from an abusive relationship that has gone bad, Alexis is hesitant on finding love. This all changes when she meets Alex, the new kid who is orginally from London but moved from Northridge to the rough streets of Compton. As they get to know one another, they soon develop strong feelings from each other.
