Kara Brandt is in a good place in her life. She has a meaningful and fullfilling career as a dispatcher, just inherited her Aunt's Bed and Breakfast, and the company of a dwarf goat named Merle. Things are pretty content. So what if the feelings she has for the tall, dark, and handsome Sargeant who just traded to her shift are slowly but surely becoming much more than professional respect?

Jake Mahon just traded out of detectives for the excitement he craves out on the streets. His past experience gives him the experience needed to lead his deputies through the dangers of the night. Especially when he knows he's got a dedicated, intelligent, and decidedly beautiful dispatcher in their corner keeping them safe.
