Still confused and nervous by what happened my body went into fight or flight mode, and chose to run into a group of thick trees. I peeked out from behind a tree to scope out my surroundings. I saw a few houses, a giant mill but mostly nature. I looked up into the sky and saw a murder of crows, travelling like geese. As they approached I realized those were not birds. I could not believe what I was witnessing as the largest one swooped down from the sky, landing beside the mill. The ground trembled as its large body made contact with the earth. The creature looked damnable and nefarious. It's eyes were molten lava, their intensity made it impossible to look directly at them. It's charcoal body contrasted with its eyes, it was darker than the darkest night. Inky ribbons surrounded the hellish beast. The one that landed was the largest and clearly the leader. The six other, slightly smaller beasts landed behind him.

I glanced down the streets leading away from this treacherous town, wondering what it would be like to start over, how easy it would be to run away; settling on that thought I turned and began following the road that led out, aching for just a taste of something new, even if that meant I turned around and went back after. Soon my curiosity took over as my eyes trailed a mysterious trail twisted out of my view, I smiled, gripped my backpack, and headed down the trail. And just like that, my taste of a new life became more then I could chew as I uncovered secrets, and broke into places I was not suppose to be. Soon I got myself so deep I couldn't just turn and go back, now I have to fight for my life and struggle to break free of the monstrous people I had provoked. Does curiosity really kill the cat?
