For 20 years, Rachel Saph has been in hiding. Why? Illegal things. Such as Genetic modification of humans.
Rachel knows perfectly well that humans are evolving, populating, and fast. She knew that someone would have to survive, even if it was a new species. She worked for a decade and a half making her masterpiece. A individual of a artifical species designed to survive even humanities biggest challenge; Space.
Meet Obsidian Estrella. The very first Sylph, created from scratch; she has the body of a human, jet black hair, Dark purple eyes, and clothing gifted to her from Rachel. Kept in hiding, Obsidian has a great life, untill just one tragic event throws Obsidian's world upside down, and throws her into a world she knew, but never experienced.

[Updates on Tuesdays and Fridays] Shyla woke up dreaming of having a daughter who would cause the world to crumble and yet years later was creating a wish list for her baby shower, having married the man of her dreams. She knew the inevitable would happen but what if she found a way to cheat her visions; she would give the baby away, the events wouldn't happen and the world would be safe. Her dreams and visions had already made an exit for all monkeys yet a slight Ray of fear lingered about her. Her parents had gotten all laboratories dealing with cryogenics to be shut down without much Ado. Yet here she was searching for an illegal lab or doctor who would help her with surrogacy. The pregnancy and the surrogacy would have to be in utmost secrecy. Almost everybody knew her, she was famous for having accurately foretelling the falling of a small meteor that would burn a hole through Earth's moon. Only when the actual event occurred did people pay attention to her warnings. But now her predicament was different. She knew what would happen, but she wanted to alter it. She hoped against all odds knowing that it was futile. Seeing was tricky. If you saw something you know it would happen, but then what was the point of seeing if you couldn't do anything about it. So here she was, trying to change the outcome of what she saw. One day she sat down on a swing and rather moodily kept tossing the salted nuts from her bowl to various targets in sight. One such Target was her bookshelf. She had just tossed a nut at a rather large book when she noticed that it held an invitation. She pulled it out and turned out to be her cousin's wedding card. It had been a while since the event and they were still childless. A sudden thought Wave struck her as she pinged her cousin.

From Darkness Comes - Book 2 in The Dissonance Series

40 parts Ongoing

She survived the end. But it's only the beginning. Ever thought escaping Earth meant survival. Instead, it meant sacrifice. She lost her parents, her sister, and the two boys she loves-left behind to an uncertain fate. Now, on a distant planet she never asked to call home, Ever reunites with the brother she thought was dead. But this new world is not the refuge it promised to be. Her sister's haunting last words echo in her mind: "Your friends may be your foes, and your foes may be your only chance for survival." With her memories fractured by reimaging, Ever struggles to tell truth from illusion, ally from enemy-even within herself. As a genetically modified human, she carries a dangerous secret: she may be the only woman capable of creating life. To Environettix, the ruthless corporation pulling the strings, that makes her their most valuable-and most vulnerable-target. And she isn't the only one. The other Mods brought from Earth are caught in the same web of lies, their very existence exploited for an agenda darker than they ever imagined. But the planet itself holds secrets of its own. And Ever is beginning to realize a chilling truth: they don't belong here. And when something doesn't belong, it's only a matter of time before it's erased. *This is Book 2 in The Dissonance Series
