Brooke and Bree have always been best friends since they were babies. They were the two losers, the ones the guys never glanced at, the ones the girls always snickered at, the ones the teachers adored. But when Brooke leaves for eighth grade in sunny California, Bree's life is spent wondering what she can do to turn herself around and get to the top of the popularity scale.

That's when she gets her good news from Heaven-- her parents get a business opportunity in Los Angeles, and soon she's flying on an airplane from dreary Maine to fresh California, and she's more ready than ever to reunite with her long lost BFF.

But what if Brooke doesn't want to be BFFs again? What if she's more intent on keeping up her new fabulous reputation as most popular girl in Orange County High School? That's not going to cut it for Bree. She's going to have to fight back.
