Chasing Cars

I smiled at her. "So, what are we doing?" I asked her.
She smiled sadistically, past conversation forgotten. "Chasing cars."
To Jaden, anything is better than falling in love. The only girl appealing to him is his best friend Carlee, but he would never let himself be with her, because he wanted a secure future, and he could have that with his current girlfriend. Carlee was too unpredictable. But, when Jaden discovers his parents are filing for a divorce, he decides he doesn't need a secure future, he just needs a happy one. But Carlee is too broken to just settle down with him, so she just thinks they should just chase cars, and not fall in love. And eventually, Jaden starts to think that too...
