According to the Greek mythology, Mousai are the goddesses of music, dance and knowledge; they are the inspiration of poets. Later on, they were assigned to each specific position. Kleio is assigned to history. Ourania is assigned to astronomy. Thaleia’s is comedy, while Melpomene is assigned to tragedy. Religious hymns were assigned to Polyhymnia. Erato in erotic poetry, Kalliope in epic poetry, while Euterpe’s in lyric poetry. And lastly, Terpsikhore’s are choral songs and dance.

Nowadays, people-young or old, have idols who are the sources of their inspiration. Two years after Red Velvet debuted under SM Entertainment, a new girl group was released called MOUSAI (derived from a Greek word meaning muses), which consists of nine members. Netizens were excited, but some were not. In fact, some think that the group just might be a bunch of beautiful girls with no absolute talent at all. Will the group be as successful as SNSD, 2NE1 and 4Minute? It’s up to you to find out here!
