I got my inspiration for this story from one of my favorite books. It's called 'Don't Hurt Laurie!' by Willo Davis Roberts. It's about a 11 year old abused by her mother. Just when everything because worse than before, she gets saved. Except in my version, instead of having her as 'Laurie Kolman' its 'Alyssa Robinson'.
