Adele Black has about 13 hours to save four people. The catch? Four people have to die in place of the four people. No Greeks or Romans can help her now, and no wizards can either. Everything has been leading up to this, and now that the time has finally come... Nobody knows how this will end.

Sixteen-year-old Cassiopeia Monroe just wants a full night's sleep. But that's hard to do when every time she closes her eyes, she's running through a void filled with whispering shadows and cruel laughter. The dreams feel too real, and lately... they've been following her into daylight. Between the blackouts, the strange bursts of energy, and the stars that sometimes flicker under her skin, Cass is starting to think she's either going crazy-or something much worse. Then, during a school trip to the local museum, things start unraveling. One moment she's staring at ancient relics, and the next a teacher from a different school is transforming into a monster with fangs, claws, and eyes that seem to recognize her claiming her to be a danger and threat. When a guy with sea green eyes is attacked, a man in a wheelchair hands him a ballpoint pen-a freaking ball point because obviously, that's helpful-and the pen promptly turns into a glowing sword and just stare at her with mouth hung open confused as to what she was doing there or how she was seeing whatever was going on. Cass doesn't have time to process. She grabs a broken chair, turns it into a makeshift wooden dagger, and does the only thing she can-fight back. Somehow, she survives. The creature turns to ash, the air hums with power. As she leaves the museum, the man in the wheelchair and another with crutches watch her go-eyes filled with something between awe, fascination, and fear. Cass has no idea why. She just wants to go home, hug her dad, and maybe-just maybe-get through one night without dreaming of the void. But destiny doesn't wait for anyone-especially not for the daughter of.....
