Picture a nine year old girl running around a field being chased around by a nine year old boy. The young girl’s long brunette hair blows in the wind as she laughs with all four of her front teeth missing. The boy grabs her hand as they both fall to the ground erupting in laughter. Perfect huh?
Too bad it doesn’t stay like that.
Beth Clancy had it all going well when she was younger, getting positive feedback from every teacher who she knew, many said she had a bright future in sports and she was loved by everyone. Her life was a fairytale, however Beth never noticed what she had, until it was all gone of course.
It all started in the first week of seventh grade, Beth’s mother had come home with the news that Beth’s elder brother had been arrested with murder and assault. On top of that, Beth’s so called ‘crush’ had exposed all of Beth’s secrets to the whole school. It doesn’t stop there, Kaitlyn, Beth’s close friend, ditched Beth for a group of popular kids telling them Beth’s every flaw. It isn’t late until all the bullying, online and offline, starts. Beth was broken.
Three years later, Beth moves to a new neighbourhood, praying for a new start. It doesn’t help when she has cuts all over her arms and legs, which would be visible to anyone within five meters.
