Maya is one of those shy girls that hide under their hipster glasses and don't really talk to people. She has a supposedly 'dead' twin brother that died from cancer. His name is Adam. Maya is a child without a father, he was supposedly 'murdered' when she and her brother were three and a half. Then a year later her brother 'died'. She's now in high school and is being bullied by a group of boys that like to go by the name 'Team Crafted'.

Adam and Maya's parents, Sabrina and Derek Dahlberg have been lying to their children for 8 years. Maya's supposedly dead father is living in a apartment with Adam. And Adam's supposedly dead mother is living in a house with Maya. They lied to their children saying that their twin was dead. Now both of their children go to the same High School. And they're worried that their children will find out that their twin isn't dead.
