The Protective Beta (Jai Brooks Fanfic)

I looked at the man in the eyes. He's the same person who attacked Cora and I last night. I watched his eyes turn red as I began to walk backwards afraid. How is that possible? He came closer and closer to me as I bumped against the door as it was the exit to my shop. I opened it and began running because I knew I was going to die. I looked behind seeing that unknown man just staring at me as I crashed into someone and screamed.
"It's okay." He said as my heart beat calmed down hearing his voice.
I looked up seeing Jai as he looked down at me with a worried expression.
