Poppy Anderson has gone through a lot at the young age of 18. After being abandoned by her father at the age of five months, she is left with a mother who eases the pain of being left with alcohol and and drugs.  After her mother dies, she is forced to go live with her father. With resentment in her heart, she must adapt to the new life he left her for. 

Dax Ryans is the business partner to wealthy CEO Thomas Anderson. Despite Dax's young age, Thomas and him have become close friends. When Thomas finds out his estranged daughter has lost her mom, he takes her in. Dax finds Poppy to be surprising resilient and beautiful. Would he risk the friendship and business partnership by falling in love with a girl who so desperately needs it?
