I've spent all of my high school years in Australia as an exchange student. It quickly went from exciting, to as boring as a Justin Bieber song. Now I'm in my last year and just as I'm looking forward to leaving and going back to NZ, things get intense. It all started with me sneaking into a Fall Out Boy concert and bumping into a blonde guy who, at first, I assume was a basic punk wannabe, but ended up being an extraordinary punk wannabe who I argued with a lot and introduced me to things I never knew. I've promised dad loads of things before I came here, but everything was ruined after the night of the concert.

How We Met
As I see my mom walk out the door I look at my dad smiling at me. The way he smiled at me made realize how afraid he was. I glance at him and give him a fake smile before he comes up to me and gives me a hug. The warmth of his body was reassuring but I feel the tears start to come down his face. I didn't want to lose him......ever. My dad Kevin who always is there by my side needed me there for him I glance at him and smile and he kisses my cheek. He whispers "Everything...will be alright." I wasn't quite sure what he meant but I nod my head. He lets go of me and looks at me before he turns away he says "I will be in my room if you need anything, okay princess?" In a quiet tone I respond with an okay. I recall my mom saying before she left to me " I love you Samantha." It just replays and replays in my head "I love you Samantha." I was staying with my dad, because my stupid mom had to go to Paris with her friends for vacation knowing I start school this year. I would be staying with my dad and my dad girlfriend and his friends for a whole year. great just great in a house filed with boys just fucking great. My father hasn't seen me for like 16 years and I had changed a lot from a little girl to a women well soon to be like a women like my mom. I'm miss her when she leaves. I walked on the nearly empty bus in New York City, which was very rare. It was the middle of the night and this was the last train going around the tracks. It was only me in the car for a few stops. I was hiding my face with a hoodie. I had my headphones in when he walked in. I looked up and our eyes met. He looked familiar and I quickly looked away. He's probably a fan and followed me. I probably met him at a meet and greet, at least that's what I thought. I felt a presence next to me and looked up to see the green/blue eyes that were so familiar. I took one of my earbuds out. "Hi?" I asked. "Hey. If you don't mind me asking, but where are you from?" He asked. "Let me know your name first." I said still cautious. I paused my music and wrapped the earbuds around my phone and put it in my pocket. "Denzel Weller." He said holding out his hand. "Rose Pitcher." I told him taking his hand. He looked so familiar. His name tried to break through a wall in my memories. I looked around us to see that there was one person left on the train besides us. I took my hood off revealing my turquoise hair. I just got it done and that's what I'm going to my hotel from. "So, where are you from?" He asked me. "We say where we're from at the same time." I told him. He nodded. "1.....2.......3!" I said. "LA." We said at the same time. I looked at him surprised. I took a closer look at him. He looked like he was around the same age as me, 21-22. I studied his features. He had smaller than average ears, an average sized nose, a strong jaw line, short medium brown hair, and then his eyes. I stared into his eyes and saw that they held familiarity.Complete

An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. The Exchange Student
[Warning! Not edited!] We just got the news, that five people from our class would be allowed to have an exchange student come over from England. I was thrilled when I heard the news, and I really wanted to be one of them five. Luckily, my wish came true and I was one of the five, but what I didn't expect is to have the most snobby, self-centred, jerk for my British Exchange Student. Jace Nicholls, the very classy (so he thinks he is) British boy that I am stuck with for a week, worse is, that he has to stay in my house. As handsome as he is with his hair and sparkling eyes, I hate him. I thought it'd be fun, but this mean loser is making my life hell. I spend seven days with him, and I'm losing the will to live. Surprisingly, he kinda makes my heart race when I see him, but that's beside the point. I just need to last a week, and I'll never see him again. But at the same time, I don't want to let him go.
