Val's life is far from ordinary.
For one thing, she lives with only two people, both of whom are her sisters, with no parental supervision at all. For another, she lives in an era where modern science has reached the point where they can predict the future; specifically, one's so-called "soul mate".
Was that a good thing? Majority thinks so. Which is what pushed the inventors to create a device attached to people's wrists indicating the time left until they meet their soul mate, which they will wear once they reach their first year of existence.
No more unexpected chances, no more mistakes, no more false pretenses. Just an organized and perfect love story.
Plain and simple.
But what greeted her wasn't so plain and simple.
One day she meets her so- called "soul mate", and the next, her house is suddenly destroyed by some freakish event of nature. And what's worse is that she gets to live temporarily in an annoying stalker's house for the time being, which happens to be 5 miles away from her soul mate.
What was going on? Where was the perfectly organized love story they promised? Why was she separated from her other half? Why was she falling for the annoying brat she lived with?
So many questions, so little time. Just what else was going to happen in her suddenly messed up life?
It was time Val learned that in love, nothing was ever predictable.
