Minerva snow is the last of president snows family that still lives. She could have had anything in the world but instead she spends her time in her archive. Her library filled with books, films and music from hundreds of years ago. Books that spoke of magic, dystopian futures not that different to her own and the hard truth of the times and places in which they where written. These story's became her life's work. Her aim was to make them available to all in any district. Then the districts of Panam rose up against her grandfather and the capital and her world turned upside down.
Her story starts just before the president is captured.
I am writing this for fun and if any readers find it and enjoy it it will make it even more worth while. Thanks! :)
The idea of the hunger games and some characters in this fanfic belong to Susan Collins but the rest of the characters have been made up by me. Also any books,films and music mentioned belong to there authors/directors/artists and I will list them at the bottom of each chapter.

When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated.
