Kaneki is Hide's best friend. They did practically everything together, ever since they were kids. Lately, it seems that Kaneki isn't doing too well. Hide is worried, and he wants to help out his friend, so he invites him to hang out with him. Together they meet Nishiki, and it's downhill from there.

Kaneki is Hide's best friend. They always protected each other. Surely, now of all times, surely it would still be that way?
