    Steve never knew of Natasha's feelings that simmered beneath the surface. So he was surprised when Natasha bared her soul to him and like the fool he was he unconsciously ruined the possibility of a relationship.
    
    Natasha knew she was an infertile and she hoped that Steve would look over that small detail, and yet every time he mentioned it, it sent a pang into her heart.
