He grabbed me and spun me around facing him. He then slapped me across the face and shoved me into the floor. He demanded "who are you. and why are you here". I looked at the dirt my blond hair falling in front of me. I put my hands on my knees and straitened my back up to compose myself. I stared emotionless into his eyes, "I'm Roslyn Dawkin" His cold gaze turned to one of shock then of wonder, he fell to his knees in front of me and gently put his hands on the sides of my face. He bowed his head and said "I'm ever so sorry, please forgive me rose" I jerked up to meet his eyes at that name. written by: xxblondheartxx edited by: liveinmyimagination

I ran as fast as my feet would carry me. My lungs gasped for oxygen. I knew I had to stop, but he could still be following me. I pushed myself harder. I needed to get away, far away. From him. From this. I remember I just woke up one day, and went to work as usual. I drove my squad car around town on patrol, but I saw bodies. Bodies everywhere. They were dead bodies, but they weren't still on the ground. They were walking around. As if they had re-animated. I shook away the memories from the day it started all those weeks ago and focused on my running. It was almost sunrise and I figured I could stop soon. As soon as I knew I was safe. But I know now that I had fooled myself. In this new world, you can never be safe. I'm Katie Greene, and this is the apocalypse.
