After the adult-hunting-zombie attacks, there were few adults left in the world and the only way to repopulate the world, is young, forced, love.
It wasn't the best option but it was good enough to get a few more people in the United States.
Each person over the age of 15 had to bare at least 2 children in 4 years. It was the new law.
16 year old, Lexington, and 17 year old, Dalton, were two people that purposely stayed away from each other so when they get put together the awkwardness is unbearable and the tension is real.
