Dragons Moon and Zappy have lived together all their lives. But now they are old enough to be taken to their different tribes. There is one problem; their tribes hate each other.

Moon is a Stormrider. Often depressed and sad, she is happy to have her best friend around to help her. She longs to live somewhere where she and Zappy live side by side and happily. 

Zappy is a Sharpshooter.  He thinks there is almost nothing better than hanging out with his friend Moon and making her laugh. But the day of their separation looms ever nearer, will he be able to survive?

They are both not typical of their tribes, and both think differently. Can they work together to bring peace between their tribes? Or will they have to fight each other to the death? And who are the dragons from each tribe who fly together?

During all of this she discovers a side to dragons that no one from her tribe ever saw, and she makes it her job to warn the chief of Berk before Alryne can take the king of dragons and put the entire dragon kind at jeopardy.
