In the oppressive depths of the Arak-Tur Mining Camp, where darkness and despair reign, a child named Ilaen is born into a life of relentless labor and suffering. Orphaned at a young age after a tragic cave-in claims his mother and a broken father, Ilaen learns to survive amidst the harsh realities of the mine, where children are seen only as future workers. As he toils in the shadows, whispers of a malevolent presence deep within the mine reach him, beckoning him to seek power and escape from his torment. One fateful night, Ilaen makes a pact with a demon, trading his life for immense strength that allows him to manipulate blood. With newfound abilities, he exacts vengeance on the overseers who tormented him, liberating the other slaves and embarking on a journey beyond the mountains. As Ilaen navigates the treacherous world outside the mine, he becomes a formidable force, using his powers to vanquish bandits and mercenaries alike. He uncovers ancient arcane knowledge, enhancing his abilities and embracing a fearsome reputation. Yet, with each act of violence and mastery, the demon's presence looms closer, a reminder of the cost of his power. Two years after escaping the mines, Ilaen stands at the brink of a new world, determined to carve out his place in it. No longer a boy bound by chains, he is now a harbinger of fear and vengeance, ready to confront the darkness within and without. In a journey fueled by bitterness and ambition, Ilaen seeks not just survival, but dominion, fully aware that the day the demon comes to collect may be inevitable-but he will meet it without regret.
