In the year 2552, humanity had spread across the stars, colonizing hundreds of worlds that billions called home. However, for nearly two hundred years, the Unified Earth Governing Alliance (UEGA) had struggled to maintain its foothold throughout its established territory, losing ground to the insurrectionist threat known as the Union of Insurrectionist Worlds (UIW).

To bolster the 13th Fleet, the Navy ordered the derelict SPIRIT OF ENDURANCE back into service. Commander Mercer, a hardened veteran and survivor of the Battle of the Binary Stars, was assigned to the aging vessel, tasked with leading a crew of hardened veterans and green recruits into the heart of the conflict. Soon, the crew finds itself embroiled in a conspiracy that can unravel the very foundation of the Alliance. A secret organization has been pulling the strings beyond the confines of both sides, casting a shadow of suspicion of who Mercer and the crew can trust.

Sixteen years ago, my sisters and I moved from France to the United States to live the American dream. Not long after, I met Declan, a marine who was home for his mother's funeral. He was my everything, my world, and the love of my life. Four and a half years later, I became his fiancée. Then, when I thought everything was going well, my world ended when I awoke to him gone. No note, no nothing. He was just gone. I waited days, weeks, and months to hear from him and for his return. That never happened. Then, I met Chadwick, who took the pieces of my broken heart and put them back together. He promised me many things during our dating years, guaranteeing he'd give me the world. And he was. Then, after years of not wanting to give my entire heart to him, fearing he'd do what Declan had done, I pushed the fear of him leaving me aside and married him. The night we married, instead of giving me the world he promised, I was gifted a nightmare. For over six years, I lived in a lake of fire. If I wasn't locked in a dark, cold room for days on end, day and night, I was tormented, punished, abused, and tortured in the blackest darkness until I could no longer see, talk, or move. Maltreating me until he broke me. Finally, one of my prayers was answered when an ally close to Chadwick helped me escape the prison of hell. She flew me out of New York and brought me to her friend's home in Mobile, Alabama, where I got the shock of my life. He wasn't just her "friend." He was a ghost from my past, and now I'm in his care. Oh, and he has a child nearly as old as our breakup.

In a small, Positivist-controlled city, Gireiah Copeigh of Yun, a renowned astronomer and theoretician, witnesses a revelled and worshipped event of deep antiquity: a Vanishing. Of the twelve stars visible on the celestial sphere, eleven remain. Following the event, a strange yet deliberate phenomenon splayed across the sky--mysterious astronomical activities with perhaps principally scientific interpretations, or perhaps the chiseled, fleeting abstractions of gods... In this distant space and time, Gireiah sets out to find an old reclusive friend, an aid to help uncover the truth about the world's newly molested skies, as well as the purpose and mechanism responsible for the Vanishings themselves. The paths of others like himself cross, and in these trekkings, an awful truth of their universe is revealed. This is Exodus Nebula, a novella of about 55,000 words, or twenty-four chapters. The mannerism and syntax of the writing can be a bit... dense. You'll have to excuse me for that. This was never supposed to be a serious attempt at a completed story, yet here it is. At about halfway through, I decided I didn't like the mannerisms at all and that it would be better off as a story entirely rewritten. Instead, I kept up with it anyway and made amends nearer the end. It was a mistake now learnt. If you choose to read past, oh, chapter five, where the story begins to pick up momentum in my opinion, I hope you enjoy. I've included a lot of themes I find intriguing and attempted to make the world wholly open for the reader's interpretation--which was the intent of this project, more or less: a practice of worldbuilding.
