If life were a game, would you be on offense or defense? For 22 year old Alex Rose, she wouldn't be in the game at all. She'd be on the sidelines. 

Life hasn't been too kind to Alex. From taking her parents at 16 in a car accident, giving her this wonderful man she wanted to marry only to have him turn into an alcoholic after he proposes to her, and the constant feeling of being alone, she's tired of never being in control of her life. After being run into by the famous Dylan Saunders, and convinced to attend a dress rehearsal for Holy Musical B@man by high school bestie Joey Richter, Alex's life changes in more ways than one. Now she's involved deeply in the lives of the Youtube sensations, Starkid in less than 24 hours. Not to mention she's still stuck around her possibly dangerous ex-fiance Jeff Blim.
Through the days and months following, Alex learns that her life will never be fulfilled just standing on the sidelines. That even with her best friend since kindergarten, Nicki McKay by her side, Alex will never have a normal life that she imagined as a child.
