Sage Maple Emerson is a 16 year old orphan. She is quiet, thoughtful, and too naive to understand the cruel world around her. Brought into the world and left on the doorstep of a foster home, Sage not only suffers from abandonment issues, but relies on her sign language and a pen and paper as her use of communication. Sage is deaf. She is bullied by the other children not only for being deaf, but for her snow white hair and unusual icy blue eyes. The adults look upon her as a burden, a low-life, and a waste of space. One night, Sage packs up her belongings and escapes through her window into the forest wearing nothing but her white nightgown. While spending her time in the forest, Sage befriends a wolf. Sage begins to learn about herself and the world she has now come to see as a terrible place.

I closed my eyes ready for my death when I heard a very loud and dangerous growl, I swear I felt the ground under me shook by it. I opened my eyes quickly to see what it is, but I couldn't believe my eyes, I just couldn't. even in this state, me crying mess, in pain, this was just like a dream. H-how is that possible? How can there be a Lycan right in front of me? They exist only in fantasy.
