The time is 1957 and things in Birmingham AL are rough. Fires are being started and people being aggressively harmed all for one thing........................Racism. White people hate black people and black people hate white people."Back then" when people of races besides white were segregated things were depressing. It seemed like everybody hated everybody until this happened.....
I'm walking home the movies with my girlfriend, when I am knocked over by a girl....a black girl. My parents told me to stay away from them and turn away but when I saw HER, I didn't care. I look at her shyly and helped her up. I looked at her beautiful black eyes and immediately fell in love with her.
This book is about the struggle of segregation, loosing friends, a loss, bullying,and a forbidden love. Will their relationship last or will it fall because of their differences?
