The Goo lied to him. It told him that he had no name, no purpose, that all he had to do was serve mother.
He remembered her so vividly, so perfectly, with her long black hair and brightly-coloured kimono. He remembered her falling from the sky. He remembered her cute voice and her love for penguins and all things cute.
But she wasn't there. She was dead. Nano would never become that monster.
And he has to keep believing that.
