Gifted

Merida has lived in the quiet village of Emeris all her life. She has no wish to seek a position in the Kingdom of Adelyn, even if she is the daughter of a retired knight.
When the peace of Emeris is shattered by the attack of the bloodthirsty Lord Dorian, Merida realises there is more to the world than she thought. Strange things begin take place leaving her more confused then ever.
After watching her parents and younger brother slaughtered, Merida flees to the one place she never thought she would ever set foot in.
One heroic deed later, she finds herself pulled into the world of royalty. There she discovers she is one of the Gifted, a being with an ancient and powerful magic. Unfortunately magic is banned in Adelyn. Its use punishable by death.
Soon, Merida must work to hide her true nature, or risk death. Something that proves difficult, considering she is constantly under the nose of the Kings handsome son and heir, Prince Rayne. Their growing attraction to one another, doesn't help either.
Now she must choose between who she used to be, and who she is meant to be, while war threatens to tear Adelyn apart.
