Amber Blake is a junior at a school called Lorien Academy. It is a place where the richest kids in all of Scotland go, and kids from all over the world go. Amber is from the small town of Corsica, South Dakota. Her parents died in a car crash when she was five, and she lives with her grandmother from her father's side of the family. She can't live with her twenty-three year old brother because he works in Canada. When she applied for a scholarship for Lorien Academy in Scotland and was accepted, she left to live in an apartment the school supplied for her and another scholarship student.
