Ember, a wolf who just popped up the middle of a forest get adopted by a pack of two, where the alpha male, Wolf is kind and accepts her easily and his mate, Cinder treats Ember as if she were diseased meat. But she struggles through. Later finds her own mate that Wolf doesn't approve of and he must try to convince Wolf he is worthy of joining the pack.

The sound of the wolves howls and the sight of two of them came into view. As one tried to jump onto me, I swerved and then climbed onto a tree.
