It was an Institution. On the outside, it gave the appearance of a juvenile prison. On the inside, it was so much worse. Each member inside the establishment was sworn to secrecy. If one word was breathed about the terrible things which occurred on the inside, then death was imminent. And, very often, torturous. No one got away with informing the world of the Institution's biggest secret. Children were herded inside, like sheep going to a slaughter house. When they resurfaced, they were different.
They were fast. They were strong. They were cursed.
Directly six months after their release, those very same children would die. What was the cause? A nosebleed. As far as anyone could tell. There were no survivors of the Institution...
Until the day Raine Hawthorne graced its presence. She was the first survivor of the Institution's devious plans and, until this day, she remains the only survivor. How do I know this?
Because I am Raine Hawthorne.
Born and bred, stolen away in the night and forced into the horrific nightmares that was the Institution's masterplan. I've seen more than what should be normal for a seventeen, near eighteen, year old girl. I was given two options: let it define me or let it destroy me.
To this day, I'm still trying to figure out which category I fall under.
My name is Raine Hawthorne.
And this?
This is my story.
